The Forecastle Festival announced a star packed lineup for 2014. The headliners are OutKast, Jack White, Beck and The Replacements.
The Louisville based festival, scheduled for July 18th through the 20th, will also include Spoon, Dwight Yoakam, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Gary Clark Jr.
It will be a big year for Louisville's local acts. Rolling Stone highlights the recently reunited homegrown band Slint. The math rock group is planning a special box set release of their 1991 sophomore album Spiderland, including a 90 minute documentary about the band and the Louisville music scene.
Forecastle has always emphasized it's Kentucky setting, especially Louisville's role as the world's biggest bourbon producer, with the famous Forecastle Bourbon Lodge. This year they are adding a new feature called the Kentucky Landing, an assortment of local food trucks, beer breweries and non-profits.
According to Louisville's tourism website 2014 is the festival's biggest year yet, crediting Forecastle's impressive growth in the past few years to a 2011 merger with the people behind Bannaroo, Ashley Capps Entertainment.
