Australian musician, Jessica Mauboy, will be performing at the Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Denmark this May.
Mauboy is well known in the Australian music industry, she is currently the reigning ARIA female artist of the year and is one of the top selling female artists that is from Australia on the country's music charts, Billboard detailed.
She will be performing a song that was written for the competition. Mauboy will be performing that song during the semi-final rounds of Eurovision which will be held on May 8th in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen.
This performance will mark the first time a non-European act has been invited to perform during Eurovision by the networks that organize the global show.
Sydney Morning Herald reported that the competition would be hosted this year by Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang.
Mauboy recently spoke about her upcoming appearance on the global show. "Like so many Aussies, I have loved watching the show from my lounge room and now to be a part of one of the world's biggest music shows is just incredible. I can't wait to bring a little bit of Australia to the contest," said the Australian singer.
