Columbia/Legacy will release the album Out Among the Stars on March 25th which includes 12 lost Johnny Cash songs from the early eighties.

Along with the album, the label decided to release film and music video director, John Hillcoat’s music video for “She Used to Love Me a Lot.” The video strings together clips of American landscapes, crying grown men, terrible natural disasters and other dreary images, as reported by Radio.com News. The saddened images work well against Cash’s crooning and gloomy sound.

The unheard Cash songs were recorded between 1981 and 1984, which involve duets with both long-time friend Waylon Jennings and his wife, June Carter Cash. John Carter Cash and the archivists at Legacy were the ones to stumble upon the previously unheard recordings.

"The depth that's there reminds me of the real serious stuff that Dad did later in his life. And I truly think it's one of the beautiful undiscovered gems in my dad's catalog,” said John Carter Cash, according to Rolling Stone.

Along with the wait until March 25th, fans can experience the 40-second long album trailer that contains commentary from John Carter Cash himself.
