It was recently announced that anchor Josh Elliott is leaving ABC’s Good Morning America and Amy Robach is set to replace him. After Elliott and the station could not come to a salary agreement Elliott decided to leave.

According to the New York Daily News it was reported that Elliot was asking for a $10 million a year salary and while ABC made a counter-offer of $5 million a year it just simply wasn’t enough. Elliott’s current salary was $1 million a year.

According to ABC Local ABC News President Ben Sherwood said in a statement Sunday, “In good faith, we worked hard to close a significant gap between our generous offer and his expectations. In the end, Josh felt he deserved a different deal and so he chose a new path.”

It is confirmed that Elliott has accepted a position with NBC Sports. His replacement, Amy Robach, will start her co-hosting responsibilities on GMA immediately. Robach has appeared on the show several times filling in for hosts.
