A bit of controversy is still surrounding the iconic band Kiss and their induction to the Rock Hall of Fame taking place on April 10 in New York City. The band would like their new members inducted, while the rock and roll Hall of Fame only wishes to induct the original members of the band.
According to the Associated Press, Paul Stanley said from Los Angeles, "We have continuing issues with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, starting with the fact that they chose to only induct the original lineup when that's hardly the case with other bands.”
Stanley has told the press that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will not be inducting new members of Kiss Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. The original members of Kiss include Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley. Kiss will not perform at the Rock Hall induction. Formerly, Simmons said that he would play at the ceremony with Criss and Frehley, according to Rolling Stone, but at this point, no members of Kiss will be playing at the ceremony.
The 29th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Barclays Center. Other recording artists being inducted are Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will air in May on HBO.
