Lorde's debut album, Pure Heroine has reached a milestone. The album has sold over 1 million copies becoming the first album to accomplish that since last October.
The album also rose on the Billboard top 200 charts from the seventh position to the sixth position and sold an additional 30,000 copies last week alone. This brings the total sales of Lorde's debut album to 1.01 million.
Billboard reported that Lorde is also the first female with a debut record to cross the 1 million mark as a female recording artist. The last female recording artist to accomplish this was Adele with her debut album, 19.
This year Katy Perry reached 1 million with her album, PRISM and Lorde was not far behind.
The "Royals" singer released her album back in Oct. 19, 2013 and it has not left the charts since. Pure Heroine was in the top ten for over 16 weeks.
Lorde has a lot happen in the past few years, including performing at the Grammys and becoming very close friends with country superstar Taylor Swift. The duo has been seen in California enjoying time together shopping and relaxing on a beach, US Magazine reported.
