A man who climbed over the White House fence was quickly seized and arrested on Sunday.
According to Secret Service spokesman, Brian Leary, the man climbed over the fence on Sunday at approximately 3:55 p.m. He was immediately captured on the north lawn and arrested, reports The Associated Press.
The person was described as a male, and no other details are being disclosed at this time.
The White House went into lock down immediately, which is a routine procedure when there is a sign of a possible security breach.
Charges are pending while the suspect remains in custody likely at the Metropolitan Police Department, reports UPI.
President Obama had returned to Washington on Saturday after a trip abroad, and was said to be home at the time.
This is not the first time the White House has experienced this kind of incident. Last month, the White House went into lock down after a man carrying two bags attempted to scale the fence.
