A California man claims racism and is suing McDonald’s for 1.5 million after only receiving one napkin with his order.
According to TMZ, Webster Lucas said he was only given one napkin with his Quarter Pounder Deluxe at a McDonald’s in Pacoima, CA. When he approached the counter to ask for more things between him and the manager, who is Mexican-American, got ugly.
The lawsuit alleges that the manager was rude and Lucas said, “I should have went to eat at the Jack-in-the-Box because I didn’t come here to argue over napkins. I came here to eat.”
Then Lucas, who is African American, claimed that the fast-food manager said something to him like “you people.”
The Consumerist reached out to the restaurant for comment to which McDonald’s replied that they had no knowledge of the lawsuit.
“We understand this customer was disappointed with his visit. We have made every effort to make it right for him. We are not aware of a lawsuit,” a spokeswoman said.
