Rock 'n' roll legends, Metallica recently debuted their new single, "Lords of Summer" at a show in Bogotá, Colombia. The band has now released the studio recording of the more than eight minute long track.

The footage of "Lords of Summer" was put up on YouTube following the show in Colombia but the new recording provides more detail of the instrumentals and clear lyrics. The band titled these recordings the "garage demo version." This name is a nod to the bands self-produced recordings Garage Days, Rolling Stone reported.

Drummer Lars Ulrich sat down with Rolling Stone and explained that this song is a reflection of musically where the band is at. The group also wanted to remind fans that they are still writing and recording.

Metallica has been known for having longer songs that range in length from five minutes to eight and this song goes back to their original roots of more jam session singles, Billboard reported.
