The mummified body of a woman has been found in her car in her garage.

The remains of an unidentified woman were discovered in Detroit Wednesday after a contractor entered a home to work on the structure, according to The New York Daily News. The body was found in her car in the garage.

The woman was a German immigrant who worked in the automotive industry for one of the Big Three car companies; General Motors, Ford, or Chrysler.

According to WXYZ, the woman, who seemed to be in her 40’s was found in the backseat of her Jeep Liberty. The woman is also said to have a son, but his age and whereabouts are currently unknown.

The woman’s neighbors said that she kept to herself and often traveled, so it was not unusual to not see her for up to a month.

“She didn’t really talk to anyone. I’m sure she was a nice lady. She really kept to herself. We never really heard anything from her,” neighbor Caitlyn Talbot said. “She was probably there for a couple of days, then she’d leave for a week, then she’d come back. Then she’d leave for a month and come back.”

The woman reportedly hadn't been seen for six years.

The Oakland County Sheriff's department have not yet released her name as they are searching for any living relatives.
