Neil Young has created a new high quality digital audio player and on March 15th you can buy it through Kickstarter.

If anyone should be creating a music listening device for audiophiles, it's this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. The PonoPlayer will cost $399 and will come with 128GB memory. The device is really for those who understand what high quality digital music sounds like. It is reported to have "zero-feedback circuitry and a digital filter that stops 'unnatural pre-ringing'." According to Pitchfork

Instead of iTunes music for the PonoPlayer can be bought off PonoMusic . PonoMusic will change the way people listen to music. Young said "It’s about the music, real music. We want to move digital music into the 21st century and PonoMusic does that. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing PonoMusic to the market." According to The Guardian

In 2013 a Facebook page was set up for the PonoPlayer. Young wrote “Hearing Pono for the first time is like that first blast of daylight when you leave a movie theatre on a sun-filled day.” Audiophiles will definitely be first in line to buy Young's PonoPlayer but I think the high-quality rockstar player will make it's way into the mainstream. Changing the way people talk about listening and downloading music. MP3 may just be a thing of the past.
