Levi Miller has been cast in the titular role for Warner Bros. upcoming origin film Pan directed by Joe Wright.

Wright had indicated he was looking for a new, young actor to play Peter Pan, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and he clearly found that in Miller, whose acting credits primarily consist of a small role in an episode of the cancelled Fox series Terra Nova.

Miller's casting follows on the heels of the announcement that Girl With the Dragon Tattoo actress Rooney Mara was cast to play the role of Tiger Lily in the film. She joins Hugh Jackman who was cast to play Blackbeard and Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook.

The film, based off Jason Fuchs' script, is an origin tale for Peter Pan and follows an orphan living in London before he is taken to Neverland. Though Hook is known to be the primary villain in the Peter Pan story, in this film Jackman's Blackbeard will be the antagonist.

Paul Webster, Greg Berlanti and Sarach Schechter are on board to produce the film, with Courtenay Valenti in charge for Warner Bros.

Pan is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
