Despite his recent announcement, Chad Channing will not be included in Nirvana's Hall of Fame induction.

NME reports that Nirvana's former drummer, Chad Channing, will not be included in Nirvana's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honor.

Despite his past announcement, Channing has revealed that he was told via text message that the honor only includes bandmates Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl.

In an interview with Radio.com, before the announcement, Channing spoke about his excitement for the Hall of Fame honor.

"When I told my daughter about the induction, she was super excited for me!" Channing said. "So much of my excitement about it is for her! She’s pretty awesome! So yeah, it does feel pretty good."

However, the interview took place before Channing received a text message informing him that he will not be inducted.

"Can you tell whoever looks after Chad Channing that he isn't being inducted... It is just Dave, Krist and Kurt," the text message sent from the Hall of Fame to Nirvana's management said.

Though he will not be included, he was invited by Nirvana manager, Michael Meisel, as well as Novoselic. However, after the confusion, it is unknown if he will attend.

Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. KISS, Daryl Hall & John Oats, Peter Gabriel, and others will also be inducted.

Channing currently serves as singer and bassist for the band Before Cars.
