Actress Patrice Wymore Flynn, the third and final wife of Hollywood screen icon Errol Flynn, died on Saturday. She was 87-years-old.
A family spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press that she died at her home in Jamaica on Saturday. The spokesperson also told The Los Angeles Times that she had pulmonary disease.
Wymore was born in Kansas and started her acting career in musicals on Broadway with 1948’s Hold It!. She was signed to Warner Bros. and made her film debut in the 1950 Doris Day film Tea for Two. Also in 1950, she made the Western Rocky Mountain, which introduced her to Flynn. He then decided to call off his engagement to a Romanian princess to marry her. At the time, he was 41 and she was only 24.
The actress also appeared in the original Ocean’s Eleven with Frank Sinatra and the other members of the Rat Pack.
Flynn had nothing but kind words for Wymore in his memoir, My Wicked, Wicked Ways. “She could cook Indian curry, she could dance, she could sing, she was reserved, she had beauty, dignity … homebody qualities that go toward making a sensible and lasting marriage,” he wrote.
Wymore was the Adventures of Robin Hood star’s third and final wife. Their daughter, Arnella, was born in 1953. She died in 1998. Flynn died of a heart attack in 1959 at age 50.
Wymore never remarried. She is survived by her grandson, Luke Flynn.
