Steve Martin will be performing with Edie Brickell on the PBS series, Great Performances.
Brickell and Steve Martin recently won a Grammy Award for their American roots recording. According to the Associated Press, Steve Martin said, "A collaboration like with Edie is where you need something from them and they confound your expectations. That's what I get from Edie - where you go, `I'm so grateful for these surprising lyrics.'”
Edie Brickell was known as the alternative singer for the band, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. The band originated in Dallas, Texas. Their hit song, “What I Am” climbed the charts and made Brickell a household name. Steve Martin is a comedian best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. He plays blue grass music. He performed on “Love Has Come for You” with Edie Brickell.
“Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell Live” will air on PBS this week. It is his Steve Martin’s first concert on PBS’ Great Performances, according to The Huffington Post.
Brickell and Martin will be touring this year, and have scheduled concerts at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
