Following the Academy Awards, Pharrell's single, "Happy" will be spending another week at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Even though Williams did not win the Oscar for Best Original Song at the Oscars the single is still finding great success in downloads and in social media buzz.
Sales for "Happy" went up again this week by almost a 53% increase. The single is also topping the Digital Songs chart for a third week with an additional 3% increase. "Happy" has been downloaded over 413,000 downloads sold. Last week the upbeat single sold around 402,000 copies, Billboard reported.
"Happy" is also the lead single from Williams' studio album GIRL which was released last week.
Williams had huge hits back in 2013 that he wrote and performed on for Daft Punk and Miley Cyrus but now Williams is focusing on his solo career.
In a recent interview with The Guardian Williams explained that his music is bigger than himself. "My music is so much bigger than me, and what I am," said Williams.
