One of the last projects Philip Seymour Hoffman finished before passing away, God's Pocket has been given a release date.

The film will see a theatrical release on May 9 and will then hit on demand platforms the following Wednesday, March 14, reports E! News. This film was his last in which Hoffman is in the lead role.

God's Pocket was directed by John Slattery, of Mad Men. This film is Slattery's directorial debut and is based off a script adapted by Alex Metcalf. Others who star in the film include Christina Hendricks, John Turturro and Richard Jenkins.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is based off Peter Dexter's book and follows Hoffman's character trying and failing to deal with an "accident" at a construction site that left his stepson dead.

The film is being distributed through IFC Films and was shown at the Sundance Film Festival, where Hoffman and the rest of the cast went to promote the film.
