Left-handed pitcher, Oliver Perez has signed a two-year contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The deal is worth $4.25 million. The agreement is based on the completion of a successful physical exam.

Perez is coming from the Seattle Mariners where he spent the last two seasons as a relief pitcher. Prior to 2012 Perez was a starting pitcher, but Seattle transitioned him to a bullpen man. According to foxsports Perez was 4-6 with two saves and a 3.16 ERA with the Mariners, striking out 98 in 82 2/3 innings.

Perez is joining a crowed bullpen staff. According to sports illustrated Perez would join a bullpen full of veteran pitchers that includes Addison Reed, J.J. Putz and setup men Brad Ziegler and David Hernandez.

Perez has played for the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets and Seattle Mariners; he spent 2011 in the Washington Nationals minor league system. He has a 62-75 record in 195 starts and 105 relief appearances over 11 big league seasons.
