Prosecutors proposed a life sentence on Tuesday for Jordan Graham of Montana who pleaded guilty to killing her husband Cody Johnson.
According to MSN News, a prison term of 24 to 30 years would be inadequate for the guilty party who is "extremely dangerous, predatory and an unrepentant murderer," federal prosecutors said, as reported by Reuters.
Graham’s attorney, however, believes her “extremely reckless but unintentional act” only deserves 10 years of prison time, The Seattle Times writes, as reported by the Associated Press.
Graham pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, in December, of the crime she committed last summer.
The incident happened when Graham pushed Johnson off a cliff at Glacier National Park. The couple was reportedly arguing.
Seattle reports, Graham pushed Johnson “without thinking about where they were,” later kept the incident secret and told loved ones her husband went on a drive with friends.
Graham is 22 years old and Johnson was 25.
The couple were married eight days.
