Two men in Maryland have been arrested after robbing a pregnant woman at gunpoint as she went into labor.
Devery Kelley, 24, and Cornell Robinson, 44, reportedly spotted the woman as she was being walked to her car by her boyfriend around 4:30am Sunday, according to The New York Daily News. She’d just started having contractions and was on her way to the hospital.
When the couple was confronted, the woman’s boyfriend ran to call the police.
According to the pregnant victim, 24, another man, who has yet to be identified, was with Robinson and Kelley when they were encountered.
During her time alone with the violent men, they demanded she open the car and eventually took the keys from her. When police arrived, Robinson and Kelley fled in her vehicle, while the third man left in different car, according to The Baltimore Sun.
As police followed Robinson and Kelley, they ditched the stolen vehicle and continued on foot, throwing away the gun during the chase. However, they were quickly apprehended and the gun recovered.
There is still no word on who the third man is.
