President Obama joked with Ellen DeGeneres about her Oscars selfie stunt during a chat with the daytime host in an episode airing on Thursday, in which he appears via satellite from the White House.

The purpose of Obama’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show was to urge Americans to sign up for healthcare using his Affordable Care Act, but of course he had to have some fun with the host.

He said of DeGeneres breaking a record on Twitter with her selfie with stars like Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, “I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself.”

He also joked, “Getting a bunch of celebrities in the background, feeding them pizza,” CNN reports.

DeGeneres pressed President Obama about shows depicting the White House like Netflix’s House of Cards and ABC’s Scandal, but he said they can’t even be compared to real life there.

“I have to tell you, life in Washington is a little more boring than displayed on the screen,” he said. “If you followed me, most of my day is sitting in a room, listening to a bunch of folks in grey suits talking about a whole bunch of stuff that wouldn’t make very good television.”
