Timbaland, one of the top music producers in the industry today, has been recruited to work on Empire, a new pilot in the works at Fox. It is being developed by The Butler director Lee Daniels and will star Terrence Howard.

The producer, whose real name is Timothy Mosley, will write and produce music for the drama pilot, reports The Hollywood Reporter. He’s the latest addition to the project, following Howard’s Hustle & Flow co-star, Taraji P. Henson. Howard joined last month.

Daniels co-write the pilot with The Butler writer Danny Strong. The two will executive produce with Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo, notes TheWrap. Daniels is set to make his TV directing debut with the pilot.

Timbaland is one of the most acclaimed producers working today. In 2013, he worked on both Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail, Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience and Beyonce Knowles’ BEYONCE. In 2011, Billboard named him the Songwriter of the Decade.
