Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina and other members of the Pussy Riot band were assaulted while they were having breakfast at a McDonalds in Nizhny Novgorod.
A group of men stormed the restaurant and threw paint, pepper spray and many other objects at the women. Tolokonnikova allegedly had a cut on her forehead from the attack.
According to the Daily Mail, Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina were in the area to inspect a prison with members of NGO 'Zone of the Rights'.
Sergei Nikitin, Director of Amnesty International's Moscow office said, “"By all accounts, this violent attack appears to have been premeditated by an organized group. The unidentified assailants chanted slogans held aloft a banner and filmed the entire incident,” according to Digital Spy. He continued saying that the Russia authorities should not go easy on attackers who go after peaceful activist.
Pussy Riot cannot get the good end of the stick. While in Sochi during the Olympics, the girls were picked up over an alleged theft case and were also whipped out on the streets.
