Star Ray Liotta of filed a federal lawsuit this week against Nerium International, a skincare company that has allegedly been using the actor’s face as part of an advertising scheme.
According to TMZ, “before” and “after” photos of Liotta’s face began showing up on the company’s social media sites last October. Nerium International boasts that their product Nerium AD is responsible for the wondrous results, but Liotta attests that he never even used the product.
ABC News reports that the lawsuit makes claims that the Dallas based company fails to pay celebrities for their endorsements, and sells their products to sell agents who are meant to seek out additional partners, putting agents “in an ever-growing pyramid.”
A statement from the company reads, “Nerium was surprised to learn through the media about a lawsuit filed by Mr. Ray Liotta. We take claims against our company seriously and we are committed to investigating this matter promptly.”
Investor of Nerium International Michael Shouhed of Shahs of Sunet is also sued by the enraged actor. Liotta is famous for his roles in the films Goodfellas and Field of Dreams, and will be starring in the upcoming sequel Sin City 2.
