Three Secret Service agents who were assigned to President Barack Obama during his current overseas trip to Europe were sent home Sunday after a night of drinking in Amsterdam. They were also put on administrative leave.

The agents were found unconscious by hotel staff Sunday morning, a day before the president was set to arrive in the Netherlands, reports The Washington Post. Sources for the paper added that one of the agents was even found passed out in a hotel hallway.

According to The LA Times, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary did later confirm that the agents were sent home. However, he offered no further details.

A White House official told the Post that the alleged incident happened in Noordwijk at the Huis Ter Duin Hotel. The resort town is located just 15 minutes outside The Hague. Obama was there for a summit on nuclear weapons security.

This is another controversy for the Secret Service, which was hurt by the Cartagena, Colombia incident in 2011. In that incident, a dozen officers and agents reportedly drank and brought prostitutes to their hotel rooms before Obama arrived for a summit.
