While Selena Gomez was out and about In Los Angeles on Thursday, March 27, she received a surprised.

As the star was leaving a convenience store, a woman approached her and handed Gomez what seemed to be legal papers.

While E! News states that there is no clear indication of what the documents specifically are, there is speculation that Gomez received a subpoena to testify in Justin Bieber’s lawsuit with the paparazzo that Bieber alleged attacked in May 2012.

The lawsuit was filed in June 2013, when Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran said that he was trying to photograph the couple lawfully in Calabasas, Calif., when the incident escalated.

According to TMZ, Gomez is wanted for the case because the paparaazo said she was there when the incident took place, so they want her under oath to describe how the entire situation went down.

Something that seems even more important, according to TMZ, is how Bieber felt after he allegedly attacked the paparazzo. They are hoping she reveals Biebers short temper with the paparazzo.

The suit states that Bieber punched Duran on the right side of his face “hard” according to E! News. Bieber also alleged pushed him against a parked car while Duran was trying to be submissive, saying, “Justin, you don’t have to do this.”

It also states that Gomez then got out of the vehicle, saying, “Justin, stop! They’re taking your picture!”

E! News spoke with the attorney representing Jeffrey Binion, who reportedly was assaulted by a Bieber bodyguard. He had said that the documents received by Gomez yesterday were not from his office, although they also have plans to serve her.
