Taylor Swift may have trouble finding love but being the highest earning musician for 2013, beating out Justin Timberlake and the Rolling Stones, must make up for some of that heartache.
Billboard revealed their top 40 Money Making musicians for 2013 with Swift earning almost $40 million for the year, with Kenny Chesney in a relatively close second with $33 million earned. Other names in the top ten included Timberlake, the Rolling Stones, P!nk, Maroon 5, and Luke Bryan.
Rolling Stone broke the numbers down showing much of the top earners raked in the money from touring. Swift’s Red Tour earned the singer three quarters of her total earnings, while Timberlake, Chesney, and Beyonce had similar ratio earnings.
Although topping Billboard’s list, which is ranked only from U.S touring, publishing royalties and record sales, Swift came in eighth on Forbes Top 25, with Madonna crowned the number one highest paid musician in the world with $125 million. Other artists cracking the top 10 on the Forbes list were Coldplay, Lady Gaga and Toby Keith.
