The Black Keys released one song titled “Fever,” off of the first studio album since El Camino came out in 2011. If the anticipation of new music from The Black Keys wasn’t enough to make an eager listener hit the play button, the hypnotic and colorful background might just do the trick.

Their 8th album, Turn Blue will be released in it’s entirety on May 13th, according to, Pitchfork. . The track “Fever” displays the talents of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney as they fuse together their bluesy and hip sound with psychedelic inclinations .

In a press release, the duo alludes to what the title of the album could possibly mean— "Suffocation, sadness, numbness from extreme cold, a Cleveland late night TV host from the 1960s.”
“We are always trying to push ourselves when we make a record—not repeat our previous work but not abandon it either," Carney said. "On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. We’re excited for the world to hear Turn Blue,” as reported by Rolling Stone.

Along with the song is a video that simply includes a pink and blue, semi-trippy spiral that makes it impossible not to stare into it’s never-ending pattern. Summer 2013 contained the recording process of the album which was produced by Auerbach and Carney, as well as Danger Mouse—also responsible for the last three records put out by The Black Keys. “Fever” is available for purchase, as well as an instant download for those who pre-order the album on The Black Keys’ website.
