Venues across the East Coast and Midwest will welcome Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork after the success of their 2013 reunion tour.
Tork said in a press release that he’s "happily looking forward to reuniting with (his) partners." Dolenz, drummer-vocalist, said he’s excited to see old friends, "Papa Nez and the Torkmiester" and "looking forward to great music, great fun and truck-stop chili dogs at 4 a.m." The bands website currently has tickets and VIP packages up for sale, according to Themonkees.net
The 1965 TV series, Monkees kicked off The Monkees colossal success while Beatlemania swept the nation. The 60s brought a bunch of hit albums for The Monkees which resulted in an evolution from a classic pop-rock sound to a more psychedelic method.
The band reunited in 1986 for a 20th anniversary tour and after Davy Jones, the original frontman passed, the trio reunited for some shows in 2012 before a larger reunion tour the next year.
Nesmith told Rolling Stone last year, "The people that come, they bring their expectations, and we give them exactly what they want, so that's perfect. I don't know what they're bringing in the door, but I'm happy to see them."
