The Parker Brothers’ album, Close to Home, offers a variety of everything to suit everyone. Stating their music genre as folk, indie, and pop, the music is rich, soulful and definitive.

The Parker Brothers are a band of three brothers based in Oregon who have preformed all over the Northwest. Most recently the trio opened for American Idol finalists, Chris Sligh and Phil Stacey.

The eldest of the brothers Tommy majored in Music Industry with a minor in Ministry and Business from Northwest Christian University. He also has a master’s degree in Studio Engineering and his MBA.

Following behind, Joey attended LCC in Eugene Oregon. With a large vocal range, he puts much passion into his songs.

The youngest of the three, Danny, is only a senior in high school however has a deep baritone voice.

Closer to Heaven will be released on April 11, 2014. There are 11 tracts on the some that range from two to four minutes long. With all the brothers contributing vocals to the songs, Tommy also plays guitar and Danny provides the percussion.

The album features a large array of music from gospel to Indie/Pop, and folk to soft-medleys. Very consistent throughout each song are the rich voices that are not overpowered by the instruments.

“Meet Us Here” and “The Glory of Your Name” provide soft worship songs with sweet melodies. Comedy is also prevalent throughout the album with the upbeat, “If I Were a Zombie.” Another faster song, “Hold On With Me,” is a romantic and soothing song. A favorite, “Christmas Movie Love,” looks are various traditional Christmas stories.

All in all, the album is delightful. The lyrics created by the brothers have heart and truth and one can hear the passion in each of the voices.
