We were first introduced to the four-shelled heroes named after Italian renaissance artists, in the 1984 comic book by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The latest adaptation of the TMNT comic will star Megan Fox as fearless reporter, April O’Neil and William Fichtner as Shredder, according to Digital Spy.

In the latest version, O’Neil’s father plays right into the origins of the turtles. Alan Ritchson will play Raphael, Michelangelo will be played by Noel Fisher, Donatello by Jeremy Howard and Leonardo by Pete Ploszek. Also, Danny Woodburn will play Splinter—all these characters will be brought to motion-capture for the very first time.

Arrested Development’s Will Arnett is also featured in the movie as supporting cast and April’s cameraman, Vernon Fenwick as reported by MTV News.. Whoopi Goldberg will also make an appearance as Bernadette Thompson.

Michael Bay and Jonathon Liebsman teamed up as producer and director, respectively. The movie will be released in movie theaters in the U.S. on August 8th and the U.K. on October 17th.
