Famous actors head some little known films that are hitting theaters this week. Annette Bening, Robin Williams, Bill Murray, Ed Norton, Elijah Wood and John Cusak to name a few and Harvey Keitel actually stars in two. The latest wide releases take viewers to another time and dimension.

The Greeks try to fight off the invading Persians in 300: Rise of an Empire. In the sequel to the hit 2006 film, the battle is on the sea as the Persian navy, led by a mortal turned god, threatens Greek general Themistokles and his people. The one hour and forty-three minute adventure is rated R for violence, sex, nudity and language. It’s available in 2D, 3D and IMAX theaters.

Travel back in time with Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Adopted by an intelligent dog, a young boy goes on amazing adventures with his dad in his time machine. While trying to show off the machine to his classmate, he accidentally threatens the course of history. Now he and his father, Mr. Peabody, must warp to another time to keep the historic and future events intact. The PG animated adventure features the voices of Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Allison Janney, Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann and Stanley Tucci. It’s playing in 2D and 3D theaters for one hour and thirty-one minutes.

Young love is reunited in Missing William. Following a horrible bar fight, Abby’s husband is seriously injured. As she dotes on him and helps him recuperate, her childhood sweetheart comes back in the picture and tries to bring happiness back into her life. The one hour and thirty minute romance is rated PG.

A star-studded cast heads the quirky comedy The Grand Budapest Hotel. The limited released film is set at a popular European hotel in the beginning of the 20th century. It follows the escapades of the hotel concierge and his trusted friend amidst a variety of guests. Ralph Fiennes, Tony Revolori, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson star in the dramatic comedy. It’s rated R for language, sex and violence.

An exceptionally talented pianist stops performing at live events because of his struggle with stage fright in Grand Piano. Following a long hiatus, he steps back out on the stage and is forced to break out of his paranoia when a sniper threatens to kill him if he plays a wrong note. The limited released thriller stars Elijah Wood and John Cusack. The one hour and thirty minute film is rated R for language.

A widowed woman struggles to carry on without her husband in in The Face of Love. She meets a man that looks eerily similar to her deceased husband and falls in love with him. The one hour and thirty-two minute romantic drama stars Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Robin Williams and Amy Brenneman. The unrated film is available in limited theaters.

Gérard Depardieu and Harvey Keitel star in A Farewell to Fools. When a German solider is found dead in a Romanian village, the townspeople must find out who is the murderer or the Nazis will come and kill them all. When no one comes forward, the locals try to make the village stooge take the blame. The PG-13 comedic drama is told through the perspective of a young child. The film is playing in limited theaters for one hour and thirty minutes.

A family moves into a new house, unaware that there is evil inside in Haunt. When the teen son starts a relationship with his next door neighbor, the two uncover the home’s dark history. The unrated horror film is running in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-seven minutes.

What was supposed to be a romantic getaway for a new couple turns out to be anything but in In Fear. As they look for their hotel, they get lost in the woods and discover they’re not alone. Their only safe haven is their car and someone or something has infiltrated it. The British thriller is running in limited theaters for one hour and twenty-five minutes. It’s rated R for terror, violence and language.

An Israeli agent and his young Palestinian friend/informant are the subjects of Bethlehem. The agent is put in a predicament when the Israeli secret service finds out that their informant may actually be a double agent. The one hour and thirty-nine minute film shows the tense, dangerous relationship the two are forced to have. The unrated, suspense drama is available in limited theaters.

A Buddhist monk travels from China to India in Journey to the West. During his journey, he fights off demons with the help of a female demon hunter and begins to fall for her. The PG-13 Chinese adventure is dubbed in English. It’s running in limited theaters for one hour and fifty minutes.

A cop goes undercover inside the Chinese underworld in Special ID. When the crime boss discovers there is a traitor amongst his gang, he goes on a rampage, eliminating those who cross him. The one hour and thirty-nine minute Chinese crime drama is available in limited theaters. It’s subtitled in English and rated R for language and violence.

Scientists search for the origin of the world as we know in Particle Fever. Watch as some of the world’s best scientists sit on the edge of their seats, waiting for the new discovery that could change everything we know about the Big Bang Theory. The unrated, one hour and thirty-seven minute documentary is available in limited theaters.

A few 3D films opened in theaters this week and next week, another 3D movie, Need for Speed enters the race. Another Tyler Perry comedy, Tyler Perry’s the Single Moms Club also makes its debut on March 14.
