Two Texas teens were arrested Saturday after police approached them near some woods and asked what they were doing, one of them allegedly said, “We are burying a body.”

According to the New York Daily News, authorities said that officers immediately searched the wooded area after receiving such an alarming response and found the body of 17-year-old Ivan Mejia.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the two 16-year-olds were then arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of their classmate at Wylie East High School.

Police believe that the juveniles murdered Mejia behind the high school they attended and then drove miles away to a wooded area to dispose of the body.

Details on how Mejia was killed have not been released.

“The entire Wylie ISD community is shocked and saddened by this senseless act,” spokesman Ian Halperin said in a statement. “We are cooperating with the police as they investigate, and we hope they will be able to provide us with some understanding of how this tragedy unfolded.”
