Rapper Tyler the Creator was released from jail in Dallas over the weekend and played a sold-out show in Dallas only hours after being released. Tyler the Creator was arrested on March 15 for allegedly inciting a riot during SXWS music festival.
The rapper, whose legal name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom Airport on Saturday. Tyler was being held because of inciting a riot, which carries a penalty of up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine, AP reported.
Police explained that the 23-year-old rapper incited a large crowd of fans to push their way past security and employees to a show that was at full capacity. Officers reported that Tyler yelled at fans to push their way inside twice, and a woman was injured during the push. Fox News reported.
When asked, his publicist decided not to comment about the recent arrest.
Tyler was released on Saturday after he posted a $25,000 bond. Following his release from jail he headed over to the House of Blues in Dallas and performed to a sold-out crowd.
