Mitch Albom is known for his novels that tell emotional and character centered stories. His novels have topped the best seller list and many of his books have been turned into feature film adaptions. Warner Bros. has bought the rights for First Phone Call From Heaven which was written by Albom.

The book was released back in November by Harper, the novel shot to the top spot on the best selling list, Deadline added.

Variety detailed that the upcoming project will be set up by Warner-based Denise DiNovi and Alison Greenspan. DiNovi has produced films like Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

This is the first feature film for Albom, most of his novels had been turned into popular TV movies such as; Tuesdays with Morrie, For One More Day, Have a Little Faith and the popular The Five People You Meet in Heaven.

The First Phone Call From Heaven is set in a small town outside of Lake Michigan. The attention of the world is turned to the town when people start receiving phone calls from heaven.

No casting details or a release date has been announced for the upcoming feature film project.
