Marvel is not the only studio trying to expand their comic book cinematic universe, Sony is working on expanding their growing Amazing Spider-Man franchise. It has now been announced that two villain focused films, Sinister Six and Venom will be released before the fourth installment of The Amazing Spider-Man.
Den Of Geek broke the news saying that Venom and Sinster Six will be out before the fourth Spider-Man which was supposed to be released May 7, 2018.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 producer Matt Tolmach, recently spoke about the plans that Sony has to fully expand the universe. “Before we know what we do with Spider-Man 4, we’re going to do Sinister Six, Venom and Spider-Man 3,’" said Tolmach.
In an interesting turn of events it was announced that a "Spider-Man" film will be released in May of 2018 but it might not be associated with The Amazing Spider-Man storyline, Variety added.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit theaters on May 2 of this year.
