Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana appeared at the launch of The Glamour of Italian Fashion, a new exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The exhibition, which opens Saturday, provides images of Italian style from the 1940s to the present day. Fashion’s elite are included in the exhibition, including Armani, Prada, Gucci, Valentino, and Versace. According to The Guardian, the exhibit examines the people and the labels that added “to their reputation for craftsmanship, quality, and opulence.” The exhibition includes clothes and photographs.

Photographs are from Archivio Foto Locchi Firenze. The photos are from the Sala Bianca Pitti Palace in Florence and the Giardino di Boboli. Celebrities in the photographs include Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Italian designers in London had a lot to say about the past and the present. Dolce & Gabbana praised Britain’s “cool” style, but had unkind things to remark about Victoria Beckham, saying "she's a designer but ... for us, she don't make (clothes) the same way like a fashion designer," according to the Associated Press.
