In another sign that another awards season is coming soon, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced the important dates leading up to the 2015 Academy Awards ceremony in February.
The 2015 Oscar season will kick off on Nov. 8, 2014 with the Governors Award, when the Academy hands out its honorary awards. Last year, Angela Lansbury and Angelina Jolie were among the honorary Oscar class.
The studios and film producers will have to submit their final screen credits lists on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Voting for the nominees starts later that month on Dec. 29 and continues through Jan. 8.
Nominees will be announced on Jan. 15 and the nominees will meet for the luncheon event on Feb. 2. Final voting begins on Feb. 6 and continues through Feb. 17.
The Scientific and Technical Awards will be held on Feb. 7.
The 87th Oscars ceremony will be held on Feb. 22. This year’s awards were pushed back until the first weekend in March due to the Winter Olympics. 12 Years A Slave won Best Picture and Gravity won the most awards with seven.
