AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb’s wedding will be televised for an upcoming reality show based on their nuptials. The 2012 Miss Alabama USA and former Auburn quarterback got engaged late last month.

On Wednesday, Webb’s sister and maid of honor, Laurie Webb told The Plainsman they’re shooting a reality show about their wedding planning, which will lead up to the televised wedding event.

“They’ve already started filming during the proposal,” said Webb. “From what I understood, it came from someone else. I don’t think they were trying to get into a reality show, I think they just had the opportunity and decided to take it.”

The wedding is set for June 11, and the couple hasn’t chosen a network yet.

Alan Webb, Katherine’s father, said of the show “After that was made known, my wife and I did several interviews. As reality shows go, this would be a wholesome one for sure.”

Webb’s mother, Leslie, called it a “great opportunity” because a huge life milestone will be documented.

The spotlight turned to Webb and McCarron while she attended the 2013 BCS Championship Game in January, when ESPN announcers Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit spoke about how good looking she was and Twitter users agreed.

“Wow, I'm telling you. You quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women,” Musburger, 73, said. “So, if you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting a football out and throw it around the backyard with Pops!”
