After seeing their first year at Barden University, Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick will be returning for the sequel of Pitch Perfect 2.
The original 2012 film followed Kendrick (Beca) and her first semester at a university in which she joined the all-girl a capella group, the Barden Bellas. However, the sequel will be directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also starred in the original film.
Her character, she told Out, will be returning as national championship commentators, Gail Abernathy-McKadden along side John Michael Higgins.
“We will see a little more of Gail and John and delve into their dynamic,” she said. “You’re going to learn more about why she has three last names.”
But with the verification of the two stars coming back as seniors, Banks also told out they will be graduating and follow the story line of the girls leaving Barden U.
And although Banks’ character was in her own collegiate a capella group, Menstrual Cycles, she told Out that she will not be singing in the sequel.
