A Phoenix man who told police he killed his 12-year-old brother because he felt like it, is now accused of killing his Maricopa County jail cellmate.
According to the Arizona Republic, authorities said that Andrew Ward was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stabbing cellmate Douglas Walker, who was awaiting sentencing on an armed robbery conviction.
The Associated Press noted that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said that Walker was stabbed in the eyes with a golf pencil. In addition, his throat was cut with a plastic playing card and peanut butter was smeared all over his forehead. The peanut butter is attributed to a sandwich that was forced down his throat.
Paramedics pronounced the 33-year-old dead at the scene.
The 27-year-old Ward was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing his half-brother last month. He initially told investigators that he killed the boy because “Honestly, I just felt like killing.” However, he has since pleaded not guilty to the charge.
There is no word on what caused the fight between Walker and Ward.
