Baz Luhrmann, who is known for his work on The Great Gatsby and Romeo + Juliet, is currently in talks to direct a feature film adaptation of the popular '70s television series Kung Fu.
AMC reported that Legendary Pictures will be working with their new partner Universal Pictures in order to bring this popular storyline to the big screen.
Back in the 70s Kung Fu was a modern martial arts Western television show that stared David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. The TV show aired on ABC from 1972 to 1975 and had a huge cult following.
The Hollywood Reporter added that according to a variety of sources, the script will feature a huge changes. The action will be taking place in China and will focus on Caine looking for his father. If Luhrmann joins the project it is likely that he will be rewriting the script, which is currently being written by John McLaughlin.
