Brittany Murphy’s final movie opens in Eugene, Oregon this weekend.
Murphy’s last film is called Something Wicked, filmed in Eugene and other parts of Lane County. The film is a psychological thriller directed by Darin Scott, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Murphy died at age 32. She died of pneumonia, anemia, and multiple drug intoxication, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. She died before the completion of Something Wicked.
Some changes in the film had to be made. Producer Scott Chambers told the Associated Press, "In post-production there's voiceover work to fix lines, special effects work. It was a complicated matter to handle that. Once all that was completed, we were looking at every aspect of the film knowing it was her last to make sure we were spending the right amount of time on it."
Something Wicked will have a limited release in Seattle, Portland, Alaska, and Idaho before the possibility of a further release nationally. A trailer for the film was released online, earlier in the week.
Murphy was the star of the films, Clueless and 8 Mile.
