Captain America: The Winter Soldier owned this weekend’s box office.

According to Just Jared, domestically The Winter Soldier brought in $96 million and $303 million globally for its opening weekend.

The film goes on record as the largest April debut notes USA Today. The Winter Soldier directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, have gotten a lot of positive reviews.

Survey site Rotten Tomatoes has 89% of reviewers recommending the film and 95% of fans said they enjoyed it.

The Winter Soldier is the sequel to the successful Captain America: The First Avenger, which was released two years ago. The First Avenger grossed $370 million globally. The Winter Soldier will probably surpass The First Avenger that by next weekend.

The Winter Soldier features returning cast members Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson.

Coming in second at the box-office this weekend was Noah, which took in $17 million. Coming in third is Divergent with $13 million. At the fourth spot is God’s Not Dead, which pulled in $7.7 million. Rounding out the top five is The Grand Budapest with $6.3 million.
