Comedian and writer Carol Leifer has a lot to say in her new book, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Crying.

Leifer is an Emmy-nominated writer previously worked on the show, Seinfeld, and the Oscar ceremonies. Her book gives anecdotes about Jerry Seinfeld, Bryan Cranston, and Frank Sinatra. Leifer has much to say, and although she gives advice, the book is not so much a guide as a memoir. She talks about moving from one position to another.

"So much of success in any career is tenacity and persistence. After 18 auditions I could have said, `No, thanks, I'm not showing up for audition No. 19,'" Leifer told the Associated Press.

Leifer says it was a thrill to perform on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show, but it took 12 years and 22 auditions for her to get there.

According to Parade, she says she is looking forward to a “fantastic season” on Lifetime’s Devious Maids, where she currently serves as co-executive producer. Leifer also wrote the best-selling book, When You Lie about Your Age, the Terrorists Win.
