A Houston restaurateur has been arrested for the second time in two days after allegedly stealing alcohol and threating workers at a winery with a hammer.
According to KHOU, Damian Mandola, co-founder of the Houston-based Carrabba’s, was arrested again on Saturday in Driftwood, Texas.
Authorities said the 61-year-old was booked two days earlier on Thursday night for allegedly breaking into and stealing from the Duchman winery he used to own.
He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
The New York Daily News noted that Mandola was arrested again when he returned to the winery days later and allegedly damaged property and threatened the staff with a hammer.
An employee took photos of him allegedly holding the hammer and a knife.
He was released this time after posting $15,000 bond.
Mandola and his nephew Johnny Carrabba founded the Carrabba's Italian Grill, but Mandola sold his share 11 years ago and is no longer involved with the company. He now owns Mandola's Italian Restaurants in Austin as well as the Trattoria Lisina Restaurant next to the winery.
