A conspiracy theorist, who fervently believes that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was murdered has filed a lawsuit against the Seattle Police Department.
Richard Lee, representing himself, filed suit over the recently released and developed photographs of Cobain' death scene from 1994, reports SeattlePI. He believes that the photos should have been released years ago and there are "broad issues" over the police investigation into Cobain's suicide that need to be looked into.
Lee claims that police have not been willing to provide the released photos to him. The legal complaint notes, "Lee has dealt with these SPD units many times in the past, and says that they are characteristically uncooperative, dilatory, and non-compliant with his requests for records and information."
As previously reported, death scene photos were released at the end of March after the photos were found, developed and examined. The pictures showed the suicide note, a heroin kit and the room where the singer killed himself.
Detective Mike Ciesnyski said, "Sometimes people believe what they read ... some of the disinformation from some of the books, that this was a conspiracy. That's completely inaccurate." He added, "It's a suicide. This is a closed case."
Lee lives in Seattle and used to host a public access show called Kurt Cobain Was Murdered.
