Nickelodeon’s Sam and Cat is ready to end its first season, but a green light for season two is a toss up and will be decided in the near future.

According to Deadline, there have been many problems that have surfaced since the show was ordered from 20 episodes to 40 in its first season.

The show centers on Sam Puckett who is played by Jennette McCurdy, and Cat Valentine who is played by Ariana Grande. They move in together as roommates and run a babysitting service. Both characters were taken from previous Nick shows, iCarly> and Victorious respectively.

Sam and Cat became the network's most successful series, even beating out their preceding shows. With that much success, it would only benefit Nick to order a second season of the show.

Deadline reported that the two stars might have had a falling out when it was discovered that McCurdy had unfollowed Grande on social media accounts. Rumors were fueled even more when McCurdy chose not to attend the Kid’s Choice Awards this past weekend saying she was treated unfairly by Nickelodeon.

This isn’t the first time Sam and Cat have gone through cancellation rumors. We previously reported that McCurdy’s leaked racy photos sparked rumors about the show’s cancellation due to the negative publicity it gave the actress.
