Country Music Hall of Fame inducted its new members on Tuesday. Ronnie Milsap, Mac Wiseman, and the late Hank Cochran are some of the newest Country Music Hall of Fame members.
Wiseman told CBS, "I anticipated and hoped for it a long time. This is the biggest thing that's ever happened to me in my 70-odd years. Being in the same categories with all the greats over the years, I'm just really flattered."
Milsap was inducted in the “Modern Era” category, and is considered one of the most versatile country “crossover” singers of his time. His popular songs included “It Was Almost Like a Song,” “Smoky Mountain Rain,” and “No Getting Over Me.” Milsap has six Grammy Awards, and forty No. 1 hits.
Wiseman is an American bluegrass singer whose nickname is The Voice with a Heart. He was an honoree in the “Veteran Era Artist” category, according to Country Weekly. He rose to popularity as a solo artist in the 1950s. He was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor.
Cochran was an American country music singer and songwriter. His popular songs included With a Little Help from My Friends and Make the World Go Away.
