The Italian court that convicted Amanda Knox of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, said Tuesday that multiple wounds on the victim indicated that there were multiple attackers.
According to the Associated Press, the appellate court in Florence laid out the reasoning for the January guilty verdicts against Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, in a 337-page document.
The documents reveal that Kercher’s wounds indicated that Rudi Guede did not act alone in the brutal murder. The court said that evidence showed that the 21-year-old victim was restrained and therefore, Guede, could not have committed the crime himself.
The documents also pointed to some alleged bad blood between the housemates and said that Knox and Kercher fought about money on the night of the murder.
In 2007, the British student was found dead and partially nude in the apartment she shared with Knox. Her throat had been cut and she sustained multiple stab wounds.
CNN noted that on January 30, the court found the former lovers guilty of the murder in a retrial.
